Troubleshooting Login Issues (GW Passport)
Step-by-step login instructions: How to Log In to GW Passport
Forgot Username
For GW degree-seeking students, faculty, and staff: Your username is your GW NetID (the first part of your GW email address before the '@' symbol).
For non-GW users including non-degree students and international exchange students: Your username is the full email address that you used to create your application.
Forgot Password
For GW degree-seeking students, faculty, and staff: You can reset your password online here: https://identity.gwu.edu/claim/index
For non-GW users including non-degree students and international exchange students: Email oipadmin@gwu.edu to request a password reset.
Can't get past login screen
This is typically caused due to an issue with cookies in your web browser.
- Completely close out of your browser (all tabs) and then try again. Often, this will fix the issue.
- If step 1 doesn't fix it, try opening up an incognito/private window and then try again (instructions here).
- If step 2 temporarily fixed the problem, you can fix it permanently by clearing your cache/cookies in your web browser (instructions here).
